The Big Picture
“Saint David’s is a place where I remember who I am. It’s a chance to re-focus my life, to meet new friends, have fun, and partake in the wisdom and sacrifice of God on a deeper level.” — 2008 Camper
St. David’s gathers members and friends from parishes throughout the Anglican Province of Christ the King’s Diocese of the Western States for a five-day program. Our hopes are to make campers aware of their value in the church as a full member of the communion, as well as a significant and crucial part of the body of Christ. This is accomplished through daily prayer, lesson, and practical application. Opportunities abound for making new friends and meeting people from many walks of life, including members of the clergy and an opportunity to learn from Archbishop Provence.
Schedule
We start our days with the service of Holy Communion. After breakfast, we gather for instruction to learn more about the Christian Faith in the Anglican tradition. Afternoons are a sorted compilation of swimming, hiking, games, lakeside adventures, and continual fellowship. After dinner, campers gather for Evening Prayer and entertain one another late into the night with charades, skits, scavenger hunts, campfire songs, as well as a talent night.
Active Members of the Church
We understand and believe that adolescents are full members of the Body of Christ. We work to help students realise their responsibility as recipients of the communion, as well as their role as a vital part of the church. Through daily prayer, instruction, and practical application, students at Saint David are equipped to confidently face the challenges that await them in life, and are encouraged to embrace their faith on a deep and intimate level.
Students are also encouraged to recognise and embrace their spiritual gifts in hopes of taking those gifts and applying them for good use both in the church and in their daily lives back home.
Spread the Word
If you know of anyone who might be interested in coming to St. David’s retreat, direct them to this website. This is a rare opportunity for young Anglicans to connect with others of a like mind and church background and a great place for a new Anglican to learn what it means to be Anglican in the next generation.
